Anyone working within the secure areas of a port, ship or offshore oil and gas facility is required to apply for and wear a MSIC.

Regulations requiring individuals to display an MSIC became effective on 1 January 2007.

MSICs are available from authorised issuing bodies. The Dampier Port Authority (DPA) has been approved by the Department Of Transport and Regional Services (DOTARS) as an issuing body and has created an MSIC Office located in the Administration Building at the Dampier Port Authority.

To assist with the process of obtaining an MSIC card, the DPA has set up a step-by-step online process that will enable you to complete most of the initial phases at your convenience. You can complete the application form, the required Awareness Training Program and find out what relevant documents are necessary to submit an application. By completing these steps online you will speed up the process and reduce the amount of time required when you visit the Dampier MSIC Office to sign your application and present the relevant documentation.
