Marine Oil Pollution
The Port of Dampier is one of Australia’s largest tonnage ports and is also host to a diverse environment, including intertidal sand and mudflats, coral reefs, beaches and rocky shores, mangroves and sea grass beds.
The Dampier Port Authority is required to provide emergency response planning and capabilities in the event of an oil spill and has held a number of major training exercises, the most recent one being Exercise Troubled Waters held in October 2006.
Regular equipment and deployment training days are held at the DPA each year, for further information please contact the Safety & Security Officer on 0407 902 221.
