Works Program
Feral Animal Management
Feral animals pose a threat to many of the native wildlife on the Burrup Peninsula. The Dampier Port Authority has initiated a management program for the humane removal of feral animals.
Wildlife Care
The DPA has had great success with the repatriation of injured and distressed wildlife. Over the last 12 months, with the assistance of Department of Environment and Conservation and registered wildlife carers, the DPA has been able to relocate snakes, ospreys, a tawny frogmouth owl and several terns.
An easy to use slick identification card has been developed to assist with identification of marine oil pollution incidents.
